We can’t help noticing that a LOT is going on in our world. We can’t help noticing that a LOT of people don’t like what’s going on. We can’t help noticing that we are all getting very verbal about it, too.
I have heard people say that they wonder what they will wake up to every day. What will happen next? They say it with a feeling of doom and foreboding. Some of us seem lost in a downward spiral with no way of changing the direction.
I totally get it and I have found myself for moments ready to jump on the elevator going down, but I won’t do it. However, I am a person who believes that there is really no such thing as a downward elevator. We are always going up. Life moves upward. It expands upward. The spiral spirals upwards. Sometimes at a slower pace, but it is always moving upward. It doesn’t always look like we think it should either. Things can get messy. That’s what I believe we are seeing now. Years of complacency coming to a head. It’s messy, but necessary it seems.
This week a group of pilot whales beached themselves here on Kaua’i. This occurrence doesn’t happen very often, and it is always studied and pondered deeply. In this case, some of the whales were dead. Some floundered on the shore and had to be led back to sea.
I bring this up as a small example of how we can use our consciousness. Some people shout and scream about the many reasons this could have happened, including our mistreatment of the ocean. They point their fingers in blame, instead of doing something else that can be ever so powerful.
I believe in doing what we can on the physical level, but I also believe in something else that will help everything on a deep level. Instead of seeing and claiming doom can we claim redemption? Can we know that the whales and all the creatures of the sea, earth and air, including ourselves are safe, that love is rising in the midst of turmoil? Can we claim that Infinite Intelligence within each of us knows exactly what to do to bring harmony and balance forward? Can we trust and have faith that everything that we do does make a difference, even if it is picking up a piece of trash on the beach or on a street corner? Even a word of good we speak makes a difference if spoken with feeling.
Life is spiraling upward. God is right where each and every thing is, even when it doesn’t look like it. We have Power called the Power of our Mind. That Mind (Consciousness) is God incarnated in us with the attributes of Infinite Intelligence, Beauty, Love, Peace, Life itself. We have the freedom to use it in any way we choose. It is everything, but we can only use that which we can imagine in the way we imagine it.
Can we remember the words of one of our great mystics, John Lennon?
“Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace…”
Einstein knew it, Jesus knew it, Buddha knew it. We know it. Imagination is the greatest Power we have. It is the greatest gift we have. It is the beginning of every manifestation. Let us use our imaginations with love and beautiful visions today for our world and all its creatures and act accordingly.
