In these past few blogs, I have been focused on the attributes of the Divine Source/God which are our attributes also. My belief system is that we are all Divine and we express the Divine to the degree that we are conscious of it. How conscious are you of your Divinity? What is your Divinity? There is only one Perfection in the Universe. From that Perfection/Source Energy, all else flows. We live, move and have our being in Perfection. How we use it is our use of a Power that is Infinite.
The seven attributes of the Divine are Beauty, Joy, Love, Light, Life, Power, and Peace. I’m sure there are more, but these are the ones on which I am focusing. In my prior blogs, I’ve contemplated: Beauty, Love and Peace. Today I would like to contemplate the attribute of Power. As the Power of the Divine Presence is Infinite, our use of that Infinity is our personality or individualization. How much of it are we using and how? How do we use it?
To answer the second question first, we use it with our mind or consciousness which feeds our thoughts. How we think about ourselves, the world and our experiences is simultaneously creating our life. This is our Power.
To answer the second question of how we are using it and how much of it are we using, I’m referring to part of talk I heard from biologist and author Dr. Bruce Lipton. He gave an analogy today that was most powerful. We are thinking all the time. We are reacting all the time. However, do we think of what those thoughts and reactions are bringing back to us? Are we benefiting from our thoughts? Are our thoughts empowering our lives or taking away from our lives?
He went on to describe the use of our thoughts like a checkbook that we hold. If we are good stewards of our checkbooks, we wouldn’t just go out and aimlessly write checks. Each check would have a purpose whether it was to pay a bill or give a gift to someone. As we write checks, there is a return on that check whether it is to have electricity in our home or see the smile on our granddaughter’s face when she receives a gift from us in the form of money. We purposefully spend our money in return for something.
Now picture our thoughts like that same checkbook. Would we waste our thoughts on things that are not going to return something positive to us? It is a good question to ask. It makes me think about what I am thinking. Why would I throw away this amazing Power that I have to create a great life by throwing my thoughts around on things, people and experiences that I can’t change or that are bringing my Spirit down.
As Divine Beings, we are powerful but only if we believe it. As Divine Beings we possess the Power to co-create amazing lives. However, “it is done unto us as we believe.” We are not going to get away from this. It is how we perceive life, how we use our consciousness that creates our experience in the world. We can’t always control what happens in the world, but we can control our perceptions and reactions to what happens.
So to summarize this blog on the Divine attribute of Power, I would say I am Powerful and I choose to do my best to use this Power in constructive, loving and creative ways that enhance my life and the world around me. I will be focusing on what I’m dolling out in the way of thought. My checkbook of thoughts will never run out, but the dividends that come back to me are relegated to how I am thinking.
