“Whatever we think, believe in, feel, visualize, vision, image, read, talk about, in fact all processes which affect or impress us at all are going into the subjective state of our thought, which is our individual use of the Universal Mind. The Law is a blind force and whatever goes into the subjective state of our thought tends to return to us as some condition.” Ernest Holmes
We talk about this thing called the “Law” in this philosophy and practice called the Science of Mind, but what is it really? Some of us do not like the word, “Law.” We feel it is cold and old and we need something new in our vocabulary. However, what I wonder is what is the difference what we call it, as long as we can understand that there is a Power operating in and through us that brings things to us, through us by some action in the invisible.
What does it matter what we call it, as long as we find a way to understand it and trust that it works and is always working and learn how to use it consciously and constructively. There is no doubt that the Power of Creation exists. We can see its manifestations all around us. The trouble is that we think we are separate from it. This is what makes it seem mysterious or unattainable.
What if we were to join forces with it? What if we were to align our mind with the idea that there is something working through us that has brought us our life exactly as it is and continues to do so? What if we were to trust that we could use this force easily and effortlessly by just deciding what it is we want to experience and keep our thoughts and feelings stayed on that experience? What if, instead of arguing about names and whether or not it is true, we just began daily to prove it to ourselves.
I found a quote yesterday that just made me laugh: “A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.” That is us – waiting to be convinced of something we are not going to believe in any way. I know, for myself, that until I spend the time thinking about these ideas and promises and actually start working with them, testing them, persevering through adversity, I might as well give up now. I love the science of it all!
Life is a beautiful experiment, a journey and an adventure in which I get to travel. I know that as I become aware of new ideas that I can tell just might further the advancement of my soul, I latch onto them and test them. Throughout my life, I’ve been down many paths and each have brought me closer to myself. This path or the Science of Love and Law as the very essence of my being is the most true of all for me. I’ve been consciously working it for over twenty years. It works every time, even by appearing not to work. I am grateful for it and I don’t care what I call it. “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”
