It All Begins with Me…

Emma Curtis Hopkins the great 19th/20th Century mystic wrote, in here beautiful meditation “The Radiant I Am,” the following words. “ I have let people and objects and activities come toward me and impinge upon me till I have been over piled and mountain covered with thoughts. But now I know that I AM at my own Center, authority over and through my universe, and I shall ordain my twelve disciples, or my twelve powers, to spread my Original Nature abroad till from me to the utmost stretches all is my Divine
Ego.

Emma’s meditation for self-healing allows one to acknowledge in one’s self that everything that happens is experienced by all and that we have the challenge to bring our own mind to a place of peace and harmony that will radiate out into experience. We can uplift by being uplifted.

Of course, this has been proven scientifically, as we know that when we all come together in meditation or prayer, change occurs in the earth’s magnetic field and is reflected in the world of conditions. I recently heard a talk by Dr. Michael Beckwith where he reiterated that it was our prayers and meditations that has brought forth all the chaos that is happening right now in order to heal it.

I believe this is true, because I know that “the answer to the prayer,” as Ernest Holmes wrote, “is in the prayer.” We prayed for healing and our consciousness brought up all that needed to be revealed in order to heal it. Thus, the escalation in racial injustice and the pandemic that brought us all together. Without the pandemic, perhaps we would not be as united in the world-wide activity for the ending of racism, hatred and violence.

If we truly believe that everything is an out-picturing of our consciousness and not “out there somewhere,” that everything is occurring within our own mind or it wouldn’t be on our doorstep, then we would have the power to heal it by healing ourselves first.

I think our acknowledgement of this is both our biggest challenge and our strongest power. We can heal the world by healing ourselves, our own conflicts, our own judgements, our own insecurities, and our own self-condemnation. We hold the wand of peace in our very own hand through the right use of our mind. However, we must stay centered and not allow the world’s opinions and judgements to impinge that pure God Consciousness that is our true identity. It is the only true thing we can rely on and it is accessible all the time because of our power of intuition.

Love is Infinite and the very vibration that shapes the Universe. Self-love is the starting point and then we will “love our neighbors as we love ourselves.”

In Love and Truth,

Rev. Rita
