I Don’t Have Time to Meditate!

Meditation changes us. This is now being proven scientifically. It changes our brains, grows new neuron connections and assists us in becoming more physically healthy. It gives not just longevity, but longevity with health. Meditation also assists the magnetic field of the earth. The more of us that find that blissful and relaxed state, even for a few moments a day, the more it affects life everywhere. Is it worth it? I would think so. It is both a selfish act and a selfless act.

Yet, many people tell me they do not have time to meditate. I would say to them, if you do not have time to meditate, you truly don’t care about your own wellbeing. Even a few moments you take every morning to center and relax before you start your day will make a difference? Do you even have five minutes? It will make a difference.

One of the powerful things about meditation is that you can take it into your day. We must bring Spirit to living. Once you’ve set the tone for your day through meditation, you are clearer during the day. When you have a stressful moment, you remember to take a deep breath and go back to that state that you made contact with that morning.

Meditation practice gets easier and easier the more you do it. You get better and better at it. You begin to look forward to it, so much so, that you wouldn’t miss it for the world. So, my invitation to the nonmeditators out there is to try it. Begin with five minutes. Pick a special spot that you can go back to every day. Find some quiet music or enjoy the silence. Take some deep breaths and just let yourself be. If you mind goes crazy, that’s okay. Just do your best you can to bring it back to the present moment. Begin to observe your thoughts instead of getting engrossed with them. Deep, slow breathing helps.

There are many meditation techniques out there and many teachers to help you. Find the one that is right for you. It’s important enough to invest your energy in it right now. Don’t delay. I promise you will not be sorry. It will become one of the most profound experience in your life and it will benefit you greatly.

What if you still think you do not have time to meditate? Well, that’s the best reason to start.

Love and Aloha,
