“We cannot live a choiceless life. Every second there is a choice. If it were not so, we would not be
individuals.”  

Ernest Holmes wrote this in the 1920’s. He went on to inform us that we have the right to choose how we want to live, where we want to live and even the companions we want to have in our lives. Do you believe this?

Many people do not believe we are at choice, but if we really look at our lives, we will see that this is not true. In every moment of our lives even when it seemed that choice was not there, we still had a choice. Many times, this choice is the way we respond to a situation that seems to be put upon us; and at other times, it is the choice to make a definite change in the world of form. For example, we choose to start a relationship or to leave it. We choose a certain occupation. We choose to leave a job or leave a town. No matter how you look at it, choice is our birthright. I think it is why as growing children we fight the restraints our parents put upon us. We are naturally beings of choice.

Why would this be so, and how does it make sense from a logical point of view? If I think it through from the already established premise that it is true, I have something with which to work. If I want to argue about it, I might never know. So, why not just try to live from this standpoint. If I don’t like the results, I can always return to my prior belief, “I am choiceless.” I can see how life unfolds both ways. For me, I know I am at choice. Otherwise, I would be a victim of my circumstances.

I also know that from the scientific findings, I am the one who is affecting my reality by the way I choose my thoughts. If I choose thoughts of lack, I create lack in my life. If I choose unhealthy thoughts, I create unhealthy situations. It is so, because I am a thinking spiritual being who lives in a Field that is pure Energy. It is what Dr. Joe Dispenza calls “The No-Thing.” It is what Ernest Holmes calls “The Absolute.” I heard Dr. Joe say, “In the Nothing is everything.” This statement rang a keynote with me. In the Nothing there is everything, because there is nothing standing in the way of everything. We mentally and emotionally swim in a Sea of Receptivity.

So, what does it mean to be in a sea of receptivity? Once we stop arguing and resisting the Laws of the Universe, we can open up to receive the gifts of co-creation with these Laws. Receptivity is merely allowing ourselves to feel the good of our choices as being already here. The Field responds to what we believe to be already done.

The Energy Field is new in every moment. It takes form and then leaves the form it takes. The moment I make choices relegated on past conditions or only what I see in front of me, I am no longer making choices that create new situations. I am simply regurgitating the old. How hard or easy it is to live in this Nothingness and make my choices from there is a matter of belief and
faith. This is so, because I cannot prove it until I first practice it in Mind. Thought precedes form.

Recently, someone came to me telling me what they didn’t want in life. She made a list. I stopped her and asked, “What do you want?” She couldn’t tell me. It is only when we decide what we do want and get clear about it that we can work in tandem powerfully with the Law of our Being.

One word about the Law of our Being, Mind in Action or what the Ancients called the “Blind Force.” Here is a very clear way to think about it.

“…The soil knows how to take a seed and make a plant from it; it does not know whether it is making a tomato or a
potato. If this were not true of the Laws of Nature, we could not depend on them. We should be confronted with caprice. One of the most difficult problems to realize is that when we are dealing with the Law we are dealing with an
impersonal thing. It knows how to create without knowing what it creates. Therefore, we must distinguish between the Law of Mind and the Spirit which uses the Law.”

So, simply put, we are the Spirit, the spontaneous one that lives in the Field of unlimited energy. We are both particle and wave. This Energy is creating by the force of our thoughts and feelings, which are waves. It is constantly doing this and the particle is what we call our life. We cannot wait until we see something to believe it is true. We have to choose first and then it will appear according to our belief and faith. One of the best examples, was in the movie “Temple of Doom” when Indiana Jones had to step into the abyss before the walkway appeared. Yes, it takes faith and belief to choose without seeing. The way we show we have this faith is to choose and then, of course, to act upon our choice.

The title of our talk this weekend is “Ready or Not, HERE, I choose.” When we choose with faith in the unseen and make an irrevocable decision, the Universe has to respond by bringing everything to us to create the reality of that choice. Whether it is a new home, health in our bodies, the love of our lives or simply how our day will transpire, we are working with an Energy that is unlimited that has never been violated and doesn’t know anything but to create. As Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “There is no great and no small to the Soul that maketh all; And where it cometh, all things are, and it cometh everywhere.”

There have been many times in my life and there continues to be many times n my life that I have proven this to be true. I’m not saying it is easy to practice this, but I know that when I do, the results are guaranteed. “It is done unto us as we believe.” When we choose to believe, we do achieve.
