Yesterday, I performed a Wiccan-style wedding for two women, which included a hand-fasting. Today, I opened to my quote of the day and it was this: “The long sleep of Mother Goddess is ended. May She awaken in each of our hearts – Merry meet, merry part and blessed be.” Starhawk. Then at CSL Kaua`i today, I found our beautiful artist Carole painting her mural and telling me about Mother Goose and how she was the hidden metaphor or the Mother Goddess when the Goddess consciousness was forced underground.
To compound this message, I am releasing my new book “Where is My Red Dress? One Woman’s Sexual, Sensual, Spiritual Journey to Wholeness” in less than a month. Something is definitely up in my life regarding the Mother Goddess within me and within all of us.
What does this mean? Despite what it might look like in the conditional world, with our rights as women being re-assessed and taken away and our freedom of choice as individuals be re-examined and in some cases threatened, there is something stirring within me. It cannot be denied. It is the continued message I receive to dive in deep into my own consciousness of wholeness. It’s there connected to Mother Nature and connecting us all.
There is a place within each of us that is telling. It tells us of our Power and connection to Source Energy, to the Earth to the Ground of all Being. Within this consciousness of wholeness, all our answers lie. Within this consciousness lies the one choice that can never be taken away, and that is the choice of how to respond to whatever is in front of us. As we respond, our situation unfolds from that place. Quantum science tells us that we are in constant collaboration with our environment and conditions, creating in the moment our experiences through perception and action.
The question is: Can we live from compassion, love, creativity and a deep connection to Mother Earth? Can we take responsibility for our lives and our part in the whole? Can we take action propelled by the Spirit of compassion and the knowing that there is a Force that gives back to us exactly what we give it? We are each stewards of life and of each other. As Mother Theresa said, “We belong to each other.” We belong to each other and to the Mother Goddess, all of us men and women alike. Let her live in us now more than ever.
Merry meet, merry part, blessed be!
