The Formula for an Amazing Life

There is a formula for an amazing life and it’s givien to us in many writings. I will re-write one from the Bible: “Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

We might not think it is easy to follow these instructions and sometimes it is not. However, I have come to know that it is the way for me. No matter what is occurring in my life or the world if I can bring my thoughts to that place for myself or others, shifts happen and life blossoms. I attract the support and power to see me through with ease and grace. My life shifts to a higher place.

It might be easy enough to do it for ourselves, but sometimes we look out at those not so fortunate as we might feel and we want to “make it all better.” We want to save them. I think this is noble and good and we should do all we can to help those in need; however, another thing that I have come to learn is that everything is not as it appears and the lives of others are not in my hands. Sometimes, I just have to trust that their lives are unfolding for their highest good, just as they are. And then, I continue to follow the words written above. The more good high thinking I can breathe into the one Mind, the more I am lifted and it is felt by others.

The other thing about this is that we must be consistent about it. Just because something seems to go wrong or we are bombarded with news of destruction or political turmoil doesn’t mean we get to step off and throw ourselves into the fray with worry and talking bad about others. Lately, I’ve come to understand that all my political negative talk is just adding fuel to the fire. Can we become spiritual activists instead? To me this means, take action from the highest frame of mind instead of incessantly talking about everything that is wrong and who is not doing what.

I think that sometimes just getting quiet and turning within, taking care of our own lives is the best answer. When we are aligned, happy and compassionate to ourselves and our own family and friends, it is the beginning of a ripple effect that spreads out into the world.

Ernest Holmes used to say, “we can’t expect our food to agree with us if we keep condemning it.” The same is true with everything. Let us stop condemning our oceans to doom and our world to destruction. Let us start affirming that all is health-filled and unfolding perfectly. That everything that needs to be assimilated is assimilated and everything that needs to be eliminated is eliminated in the perfect flow of life.

This Life, this Power, this Source that created everything works through us. It can do only what it can do through us. Let’s help the oceans along with our affirmative thinking. I know it is felt. Then, let us see what we can do to help on the physical level. Let us do the same for our friends, our families and our so-called enemies. No matter what we do to separate, we are still all one – ALL OF US.

“Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Love and Aloha,

Rev. Rita
