Yesterday, we signed the lease on our new living space, a beautiful home here on Kaua’i. It happened in a miraculous way, definitely not the way we could ever have predicted. I am continually learning to trust and have faith.
In short, we were leaving for the Mainland and my husband saw an ad on Craig’s List with no pictures, just a description. Intuition told him to follow the lead. He did and with ease and grace every part of the arrangement fell into place.
Life should be easy. If something is a struggle, I take it as a sign that something is out-of-place, that I am approaching the situation in the wrong way. As Ernest Holmes wrote, we should not be surprised when we do demonstrate; we should be surprised when we do not and then delve deeply into our minds and hearts to see where we went astray.
The Science of Mind is not a get rich quick philosophy. It isn’t even about getting rich at all. It is about embodying the consciousness of Love and trusting in the Power within us , that immutable Law that brings us exactly what we can conceive in mind. If our life is not working out the way we want it to, then it is our job to conceive of a better life and then to follow in the footsteps of that journey, always grateful. In other words, we must treat and then move our feet and give thanks for everything.
We cannot just say that God is good and then do nothing to prove it. We must look for the Goodness everywhere, even where we do not see it We must see with spiritual eyes. There is a gift in everything. As Emma Curtis Hopkins said, “there is a Good and I ought to have it.” We are not meant to suffer. Suffering is just an experience on our way to Reality. I believe this. There is Good in everything.
I am so grateful for our new home. It took a little push from within to go a little further than I’ve gone before; but, I am ready to step up. We cannot stay in the same place for ever. We have to expand. We start where we are and then grow a little more each day into the life that choose to live. It is different for everyone and I accept those differences. We are all free.
I’ve always loved this quote from the Science of Mind, “ANYTHING YOU CAN DREAM OF is not too great for you to undertake, if it hurts no man and brings happiness and good into your life.”
