About a decade and a half ago, I was probably at my lowest place financially speaking. I was the one who slept on the floor when I went to visit someone or slept in someone else’s room at conferences without sharing the cost. I appreciated the generosity of my friends. They did it because they loved me and wanted me to be there. It got me through one of the hardest times in my life. I had been studying the Science of Mind and Spirit and applying it in my life for about twelve years. Things were getting better, but still I wasn’t living in prosperity.
One day, I remember sitting and having a cup of coffee with a friend, thinking I can’t really afford to do this. It was just a cup of coffee, but still it was a lot of money to me at the time. I remember that moment as a defining moment. I suddenly had a shift in consciousness. It was one of those “enough is enough” moments. In that moment, what we call embodiment took place. I truly realized that I was done with my lack mentality and that things were getting better and better now. I demanded it. I truly deserved to have a cup of coffee with my friend.
And so, things did get better. It didn’t happen all at once, but the shift in consciousness where it all starts had taken place. Because of that, I had a peace of mind that settled into my soul. I continued to expand and grow.
The reason I’m writing this today is because of an incident this morning that brought up the memory. I was standing in line getting coffee at the hotel here where we are stay-cationing. The man in front of us could not pay for his coffee because he hadn’t brought cash with him and he didn’t have I.D. to give his room number. Without even thinking, my husband I said together, “We’ll buy him his coffee.” This might seem like a small thing, but for me, it was the Universe reminding me of where I’d been and where I am now.
We live in a limitless Universe. Call it the Field. Call it Mind. Whatever we call it, it is who we are. What we can conceive and believe about abundance is created through this Field as our life. Again, it is limitless, but we take from it our portion according to our belief. We cannot limit it and we cannot take more than we can believe we can.
I spent a lot of years in poverty consciousness, building up debt, scrimping to get by. I worked the Principles of the Science of Mind and Spirit. I stumbled, I fell and I kept getting back up. I felt rich before I saw it in my bank account. I began to act as if. I began to realize I deserved to be prosperous. I began to follow my passion instead of giving into a Plan B, like I had all my life.
The Universe gives us what we can take. The taking is mental. There is no way around it. As Joe Dispenza puts it, “A clear intention married to an elevated emotion,” can change our life. Ernest Holmes would say “we must state our intention with feeling and conviction.” The Law of Mind in Action responds. Science is the new Spirituality, Spirit is the Love that drives the Energy into form. We are Love and Law. Where once we had to just believe it; now Science can show it to us. What will we do with the Power? There is no limit and the choice is ours.
