During the throes of Hurricane Dorian, Marianne Williamson apparently tweeted something like this, “Millions of us seeing Dorian turn away from land is not a wacky idea; it is a creative use of the power of mind.” She had spoken about us coming together to visualize the Hurricane subsiding, and, she was deeply ridiculed for this statement.
I, in contrast, am very, very impressed that a presidential candidate would have the audacity to speak her truth in spite of the ridicule I’m sure she already knew she would receive. This is a great example of how I would like to always live my life. And, as far as what she said, here on the Island of Kaua’i, we do this every time a hurricane approaches us. We come together and pray and visualize the hurricane turning away from the Island. The great Hawaiian Kapunas are always in prayer for our Islands. Visualization of this kind is an ancient mystical truth that has been used and proven throughout the ages. Think of the story of the great Master Jesus who calmed the storm with his word. Didn’t he said, “greater things than this shall you do…” Evolution moves forward. And, now quantum science is proving that the Field of Energy responds to our perceptions of it.
I am fascinated with the split that is occurring and becoming so clear in the consciousness of our species. There is a great evolution going on and it will continue to expand and more and more of us realize our own innate power. We have the materialists and we have those of us who understand that whatever is material is truly spiritual. The Power of the Mind over matter is as real to us as a peanut and butter sandwich. We strive to master our own mind, knowing that as we do we feed into the one field of intelligence in which we all live.
I am so understanding that we are not here to change the world by trying to control others and their beliefs. We are here to live to our highest and best place of unconditional love and integrity, to step into our Power and speak our word, as Marianne did, in spite of criticism. As we live our lives to our highest and best and learn to become responders, rather than reactors, the world cannot help but begin to move in greater and greater tides in the direction of love.
I know I can move a storm with my thought. I’ve already done this in my own life. We all have storms both physical and mental. The Power of Mind is real. It is the Power of Source Energy moving through and as us. Our thoughts matter in the scope of our world. Let us strive to begin where we are and recognize our own Power to think positively, not in an airy-fairy way, but by actually spending daily practice focused on the Power that lies within each of us. As Emerson so eloquently said, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”
Ernest Holmes wrote, “If we allow the world’s opinion to control our thinking, then that will be our demonstration.” I’m not interested in the world’s opinion of how I live and whether or not I can move storms with my thoughts. Thank you, Marianne!
Love and Aloha,
