Prosperity has been on many of our minds during this time of the Coronavirus. In fact, more than likely, it has been on many of our minds for much of our lives. How many of us never concern ourselves about money? Honestly, I know that I have had to come to terms with my abundance consciousness and it has been a journey.
Since I have been in the Science of Mind teaching, practicing its Principles, I have worked my mental way out of poverty and lack consciousness. I have come to realize that my inner supply is my outer expression of abundance. I am cause to an effect which I call money. What does this mean? There is a quote by Dr. Ernest Holmes that explains this perfectly. “Here and now, we are surrounded by, and immersed in, an Infinite Good. How much of this Infinite Good is ours? ALL OF IT! And how much of It may we have to use? AS MUCH OF IT AS WE CAN EMBODY.” The capitalization is Dr. Holmes’. He always does that in his writing when he really wants us to get a point. So, the amount of the Universal flow of abundance that I can accept in consciousness will determine my outward expression in form.
We just taught a two-session workshop via zoom called “Prosperity…Even Now!” on this very topic. What I took from it as the facilitator, and at the same time doing the work, is that as much as we say we trust our inner supply, we are many times still waiting for something to show up in order to feel abundant. This puts a lot of stress on many of us. I know that back in my intense days of financial struggle, I woke up many a night in a cold sweat because of this thing called money. How much power we allow it to have over us!
What I’ve come to learn is that the more I can let go and do my work on my inner world, the more I can relax and trust the flow of the Infinite in my life. My definition of prosperity is to come to a place in consciousness where I do not need anything. When I say this, I do not mean that I lack money. No that is not it at all. What I mean is that I have a deep knowing that I am always taken care of.
I have a feeling that is the way Jesus and many other mystics led their lives. You never hear about them working or struggling for finances. You never hear about them having a day job, and yet they did their great work in the world and were always supplied. Jesus’ robes were coveted by his enemies after his crucifixion. It took a lot of money for Mother Theresa to do her work.
The Universe is always moving in our favor and bringing us back to highest selves. It’s not a coincidence that one of the things that the Coronavirus has brought with it is the loss of jobs and financial substance. We all have a choice to make at the same time. We can either move into despair, fear and lack and believe that it’s never going to get better and that we are lost; or, we can take this time to trust our inner supply and move out of fear into our creative selves. When we trust our inner supply and focus on it and give gratitude in advance, it automatically shows up. I have proved this both ways throughout my life. I so much prefer faith and trust to fearful, stomach knotting nights. Faith and trust produces; fear clogs my flow and also creates illness.
One of the Ernest Holmes quotes that is on our wall at the Center is “The invisible passes into visibility through our faith in it.” There is even more to this quote that was written at another crucial time in our history (during the Great Depression), “A new science, a new religion, and a new philosophy are rapidly being developed. This is in line with the evolution of the great Presence and nothing can hinder its progress. It is useless, as well as foolish to make any attempts to cover this Principle, or to hold it as a vested right of any religion, sect or order. The Truth will out; the Spirit will make Itself known. Happy are we if we see these things which, from the foundation of the human race, have been longed for by all aspiring souls.”
One of the gifts of the Coronavirus, if we will receive it, is the inward journey to the Infinite Presence. The process of developing faith and trust in our true nature of abundance and the ability to relax into our creative nature is what will bring us into this new world that is being birthed. We will never be the same after this and that is good. There is a place for each of us if we will take it with an abundant and grateful and giving heart.
In Love and Truth,
