There is a special meditation written by Dr. Ernest Holmes, mystic, author and Founder of the Science of Mind and Spirit. I feel it is so appropriate for these times right now. We are being told a lot of things in the media, from various people, and leaders, much of it not edifying at all: Things about our global economy, our health, our finances, the uncertainty of our future.
While all of this might be true in the world of conditions, what I know is that it is our response to what is happening that is key to not just our survival, but our ability to thrive during these challenges. We can fall into the programmed consciousness of the collective or we can program our own mind, which will not only assist ourselves, but balance and lift the collective consciousness. What we tell ourselves about what is happening is even more important than what is actually happening. Here are Ernest Holmes words. The only change I’ve made to them is to put them in the present tense.
“I keep the promise that I have made myself. I never again tell myself that I am poor, sick, weak nor unhappy. I do not lie to myself any more, but daily speak the truth to my inner Soul, telling It that It is wonderful and marvelous, that It is One with the Great Cause of all Life, Truth, Power and Action. I whisper these things into my Soul until it breaks forth into songs of joy with the realization of Its Limitless possibilities. I assure my Soul.”
If while speaking these words to oneself you feel that it is untruth because of the “reality” of your situation, think again because what we think about ourselves, although not manifested yet in the world of form, can change the world of form if we continue to persevere. We were created perfect. As many ancients cultures and mystics have said and written, imperfection comes from an error in the mind. It is not truth.
Truly, our Real Self is wonderful and marvelous. It is because it is one with the Great Cause of all Life, which is Power and Action. When we give ourselves the opportunity to use this calming prayer/meditation, truly breathing it in, and then releasing it into our experience, we are taking a step in not just healing our own situation, but in lifting the consciousness of all. It is both a Selfish and Selfless act at the same time.
I trust you find this helpful, as we walk these uncertain times. In the uncertainty we can find a far greater certainty within, a Power that we can utilize, that utilizes us, that never deserts us, that reinforces and builds our immune system. Our immune system is being challenged to kick into high gear and carry us through. Let us give it all the assistance we consciously can.
Love and Aloha,
Rev. Rita
