Martha Graham, the famous choreographer and dance, who changed dance forever, wrote this, “There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it.”

This quote, although I have heard it many times, has come just at the right time. I am calling up that quickening right now. What I’ve come to realize is that I am needing to bring my vitality anew into action. What does this look like?
My husband and I were speaking of this today. We were both recognizing that there was an need for excitement that was calling us in our lives. More than ever, we needed to make sure that our vibrational rate was sustained in a high frequency. We could feel the effects of lowering energies pulling us into the world of effects in regards to our bodies and health. We, as conscious spiritual athletes, recognized this right a way and are doing our inner work.
I asked myself, “What is one small thing I can do today, to up the life force into action?” The answer for me if gratitude. What if I just practiced gratitude all day long for everything. Yes, gratitude is an energy booster that is contagious. The more gratitude you give, the more energy is generated, and experiences to be grateful for show up all over the place.
At one time, I took an amazing program by Dr. James Mellon called “Mental Muscle.” One of the sections was totally focused on our life force? Were we feeding our life force or were we depleting it? That was the question posed and we were to identify which experiences, people and things depleted or energized us. The clarity from this exercise was amazing. However, then the next step is to put the clarity into practice. Some things needed to be released and some of the other needed to be more fully embraced.
It takes a decision to shift our life, to shift our energy, to shift our consciousness. It doesn’t just happen. We have to decide that it is happening now and then put that decision into action. We have a tool called “Act as If.” This doesn’t mean to be false about what we are feeling, but it does mean to have the faith to take our intentions into action like they have already occurred.
“There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it.”
How important right now is it for us to unblock our life force? I think it is a matter of life and death. Not in the physical sense, but more in the sense of having a part of us die that is meant to be lived. We are each a unique expression of God. If we need proof, our fingerprint proves it. What we do with that unique expression is our life’s journey. I know for myself, I do not want to come to the end of my time here and say to myself, “I wish I had _______________… .” What about you?
