“God helps those who help themselves.” I heard this phrase growing up and I heard this phrase recently from the lips of Dr. Joe Dispenza. When I was little, this phrase let me know there was an outside God, a man in the Heavens who would help me if I made an effort on my own behalf and if I was a good girl. When Dr. Joe said it, I knew he wasn’t talking about a man on a cloud, but about the inner Mind, the Glory of Life that we connect to in our healing work.
This is a Principle of the Science of Mind and Spirit. “God helps those who help themselves.” No one is doing anything to us or giving us anything. When we remain connected to the Infinite Source, the Infinite Life, the Infinite Love, our lives are transformed. We don’t have to go anywhere outside of ourselves to stay connected, we only have to be aware there is that Infinite something that is our true essence. I identify it as a Loving Energy, and when I relax into it, I feel safe, secure and able to live freely.
Right now, I am still healing from my retina surgery of a little over three weeks ago. I get a little impatient with myself because I want it to be perfect now. However, what I am learning is that it’s okay to accept the process of healing. As I find myself struggling with trying to make it happen now, I take a deep breath and become aware of the healing energy that is working through me. I surrender to that. It isn’t always easy for me to step beyond my egoic mind of having to do it, but I get better and better at it every day.
“God helps those who help themselves.” God is me helping me now, through me, as me. As I allow my inner splendor to reveal itself today, healing is easily revealing itself. We all have this same opportunity in every moment no matter what we are experiencing. We are wholeness. This is our true nature.
