Faith is defined by many spiritual texts, but what it all boils down to this: Faith is a state of mind. We all have faith in something. It isn’t something we have to go and get. Faith is something we direct. We can have lots of faith in uncertainty or disaster or waiting for the other shoe to drop, or we can have faith in the certain outcome that all is well with us. Faith encompasses trust in the unknown and complete surrender to the knowing there is perfection beyond every appearance.
I believe Faith is something I have to cultivate every day. I get to enlarge my faith in any direction I choose. I have to be careful that I am being honest with myself in regards to my faith. I have to really listen to what I am saying to myself and to others. I have to honestly assess what I receive from others in the way of their consciousness. I have to accept the fact that I am in charge of my mind.
The other day, I got on the phone with someone recommended to me as a person that dealt in the rental world here on the Island. She was so negative, but I didn’t believe a word she was saying. I gently got off the phone. I sat back, took a breath, and really checked in on whether or not I had received what she told me on a subconscious level. The answer was a clear “no.” I knew my faith was in place, guarding me and guiding me.
How do I work on my faith? Well, I truly understand that what I see in the conditional world is an effect. I understand the power I have to choose how I want to experience life. I have an underlining premise for my life that tells me I am always guarded, guided and protected and that the Universe is always conspiring in my favor. I then look out and see that all around me, in the people I meet,, in the experiences that present themselves. I have to work on this every day, from the time I wake up in the morning until I lie down to sleep. I wouldn’t say it is always easy, but I am persistent and I love the journey.
We all have faith in something. Faith is a state of mind. Choose today where you place your faith and remember that Faith is an energy, a vibration, a creative force.
