Why Am I Here?

I have dedicated my life to ministry. Ministry is a verb. For me, it means I “nurture people and their spirituality.” I assist them in realizing their Truth Self – which is good, which is powerful, which is at choice at all times. Basically, I help people to have better lives. But how?

I can teach. I can preach. I can counsel and I can, at times, cajole. But, really, how do I minister. I believe the best way I can minister is to have the most fantastic life possible. The best way I can minister is to be an example of living life to the fullest. The best way I can minister is to live my own life in the most perfect alignment. If I am doing this, I am holding up a big flashlight that says, “There is Light!”

Today, when I asked this question, “What is my purpose?” I suddenly came upon this quote by Louise Hayes:

“It seems to me that everyone on this planet whom I know or have worked with is suffering from self-hatred and guilt to one degree or another. The more self-hatred and guilt we have, the less our lives work. The less self-hatred and guilt we have, the better our lives work, on all levels.”

If I am here for anything, it is to rid the world of self-hatred and guilt. The only place to begin is with myself. But how? I believe the how entails living my true self. It entails letting go of the need to be liked and the need to please. It entails living without self-conflict. The only way to do this, for me, is to get real with myself. To get “really myself.”

There is a teacher I just came across his name is Panache Desai. He said this, “If you are living to be liked, you are suffering. It is painful to live a life where the best you can hope to be achieved is to be liked.”

Then he wrote, ““When you are in harmony with yourself, everything unfolds with ease and grace.”

So, if I am here on this earth plane for any purpose at all it is to bring myself to the state of Grace and to shine the light for others. Harmony and balance is our true nature. Releasing ourselves from old patterns and distracting issues of self-hatred caused by past experiences that we cannot change or people’s opinions that are none of our business will free us instantaneously.

How does it happen? Can I wave my hands over you or touch your forehead of give you this release? No, I can’t.  It is a choice that we each have to make, and we can make it now. It might take practice to If I am ever frustrated or feel that I cannot change what I am feeling or the circumstances that surrounds it, I have a fail-safe method for shifting. I begin to do something creative. I begin to use my gifts. I begin to do something constructive. It will take me out of a funk faster than anything else. It will bring me back to my true self.

We are living in times when the whole planet is making a shift. It is messy, as we have seen. We each have the opportunity to clean up our corner of the mess. I walked into a house yesterday that was so clean that it inspired me to come home and clean a portion of mine. This is the way it works. Love, Goodness, Joy, Peace, Beauty is just as contagious as cold. They are all contagious because they are caught by “thought.”

What am I putting out into the atmosphere of thought. The best I can put out is the best I can think of myself. Really, we all make a difference.
