Merry Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas Eve!

I love this philosophy called the Science of Mind and Spirit that has allowed me to delve deeply into my own soul and begin to understand the Principle of all Life. I know that all of redemption lies within my own ability to delve deeper into my own Consciousness and its union with the Whole. This is I understand is what was meant, “let the mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.”

It is written, “Unto us a savior is born.” There is only one way that Jesus is a savior to me and that is that he pointed the way. Blasphemous as it might seem to some, I understand that Jesus was no different from me.

Ernest Holmes wrote, “And yet it would be a grave mistake to suppose that he (Jesus) was different from other men. He was a man who knew himself and his direct relationship to the Whole. This was the secret of his success. …To think of Jesus as being different from other men is to misunderstand his mission and purpose in life. He was a way-shower…”

This makes more sense to me than anything I have ever heard. It explains why Jesus was crucified and why many who have tried to tell us truth were ridiculed, scorned and killed. We are afraid of losing power over each other. We are afraid of not being right. Jesus just taught love and peace. So did Gandhi and others. The Christ Consciousness is here for all of us.

To me, this is what Christmas is all about – remembering that the Christ Consciousness was born in Jesus, that he lived it and breathed it and taught it, and told us all that it was ours also. “Greater things than this shall ye do.” “Know ye not that he are Gods.” “I and the Father are one.”

There is only Wholeness and I am reminded of that wholeness today on Christmas Eve. I celebrate it. And, I promise myself that I will do my best to live it as completely as I can. Ernest wrote, “The answer to every question is within us because we are within Spirit, and Spirit is an indivisible Whole. The solution to every problem is with us; the healing of all disease is within us; the forgiveness of all sin is within us and the raising of the dead is within us. Heaven is within us.”

So, it is all within us. There is no where else to go for it. There is not a time that is better than another time to accept it. It’s all here now. The sooner we allow it to work through it, the sooner will life be the wonderous and joyous experience it is meant to be. In the meantime, we suffer.

I am so grateful for this reminder now at Christmas time. It’s not about religion. It’s about the great spiritual life that we get to live NOW!

Merry Christmas!

Love and Aloha,

Rev. Rita
