What the World Needs are Spiritual Solutions…

There is a spiritual solution to everything. I believe that we could take any challenge we are experiencing and we could solve it spiritually and by doing so, solve it completely. However, what I am finding is that people, in general, do not necessarily think in this way.

We try to solve the problem at the level of the condition. We try to fix our lives at the level of our problems. If we want more money, we think we have to work harder. If we want more health, we search for the latest diet or vitamin combination. If we want more love, we look for a better mate or try to make ourselves look better. If we want to end bullying, we look for ways to punish the bully. The list goes on.

What I have found is that the only true way to solve any problem or to live more fully, more abundantly, more lovingly, is to practice the spiritual solution. What do I mean by this? Any time, I have found an answer and turned my life around, it is because I have embodied an idea of that perfection. I have gone within and changed my mind about it. I have worked on myself and my own consciousness.

If I want to experience more abundance, I have to think more abundantly and practice it by practicing the Law of Giving and Receiving. It’s why I tithe. Because i can. When I let go of my money and circulate it by paying my bills, tithing and so on, I am letting the Universe know there is more. This is only one example of a spiritual solution.

In regards to love. If I want more love, I have to be more loving. When and if I am having a problem with lack of love in my life, I know I have to love myself more. I have to forgive.

Last night we attended an evening centered around solutions regarding the Me2 movement. It was focused on how to move beyond the current status of this movement. Yes, it is good that we are speaking out and people who have incorrectly wielded their power are paying the consequences, but what now?

Now there must be a spiritual solution. Blame can only get us so far. It opens the door, but once the door is open, then there comes, responsibility, and especially forgiveness. It is the same with bullying. Until the bully is addressed, nurtured and taken care of, there will be no ending to bullying.

Jesus once said, “First remove the beam from your own eye, … Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but fail to notice the beam in your own eye?” Matthew 7:4

The beam he was speaking of is the one that contemplates our own lack of love for the self that is projected out into the world.  There is a spiritual solution for everything. If we think there is no way out, there will be no way out. The only way to end all of this madness that keeps perpetuating itself and enter into the new era of love, compassion, ending war and destruction is for each of us to begin with ourselves. Moving into activism from a place of hatred and needing to win a “fight” will not promote peace.

Sane and loving people who practice the principle of love and forgiveness and compassion are the ones who will change this world.

Love and Aloha,

Rev. Rita
