Every mystic in the Universe has spoken these words in one form or another: “Know Thyself!” I heard this quote by Emerson today, “Every man is a divinity in disguise, a God playing the fool.” I say yes, yes, yes! And, I am guilty, too.
The Buddha when asked who he was said, “I am awake.” I believe we are waking up. Donald Trump said he would make America great again. He might not have planned it to be in the way that is occurring, but America is becoming great again because we are waking up. We are finding that we’ve been asleep giving up our responsibility to those outside of ourselves. Saying fix this for me. Complete upheaval is making us realize that we are the ones. If not now, when?
This goes for our own lives. No one is going to fix our lives but ourselves. We will do just that when we “Know Thyself.” Then we will see there was never anything to be fixed. We’ve spent far too long conquering the outside world and not examining our own minds and hearts.
I am waking up to my Divinity. What does this mean to me? It means that all power is given to me. That means that my Word has Power. What is my Word? It is whatever I choose to contemplate on. God creates from itself through contemplation. As I look out at my world, I see what I have been contemplating on. Am I contemplating the solution or the problem?
Yes, “the unexamined life is not worth living.” It is time that we all examine our own lives and see who we really are. “Don’t ye know, ye are Gods!” How many times do we have to hear it? Are we afraid of the responsibility?
In invite us all to step up into our Power. Live the life we have imagined for ourselves. Nothing is impossible. There is a little child inside each of us. It is the Buddha, the Christ, the Krishna, the Divine. It came to this planet with dreams and obstacles all at the same time. The journey is to remove all the obstacles to reveal the dream. We can do this as fast or as slow as we choose. However, there is an urgency now to stop telling ourselves we have all the time in the world. Yes, there is truth in that, but the question is will there be a world to give us the time. I know there are worlds without end, but I’m interested in right now.
The door to God opens inward: “Know thyself and thou shall know the Universe and God.”
