There is a Field

Rumi once wrote something like this, “Out beyond ideas of right and wrong doing, there is a field, I’ll meet you there.” In our retreat here in New Mexico, that field is being acknowledged as the energy field that connects us all. We cannot escape it and it is not out there. It is right here. We are entangled minds and hearts. Right now we are searching for coherence of the two.

All the mystics of all ages knew this. As far as it being beyond ideas of right and wrong doing, I believe that this means that this field has no judgment. It just is and we get to label it anyway we choose. We surely do. In our judgement we label everything and everyone.

However, the simplicity of it is that if we could just be here in the field together, working together individually and collectively for the highest outcome for all at all times, we would have peace. At CSL, we call it a world that works for everyone.

The problem with our world today is that we do not realize this. We think we are separated. We think that we are isolated and don’t realize what we do to ourselves or to one, we do to all. We think we are powerless. Even beyond that, what we think is felt everywhere. We cannot escape our interconnectedness. What is the significance of this? I do not think I need to explain.

If I am getting anything out of my time here at this retreat, it is the knowing that we are on the brink of either a new amazing life here on Planet Earth with a leap of consciousness, or mass extinction again.

There is only one way to save ourselves and it is to begin with self-love. We must heal our issues that are stopping us from loving ourselves. We must forgive everything. We must do whatever is necessary to clean up our minds from self-condemnation. There is a whole field we are not experiencing because we are holding onto the old. We cannot do both.

The other thing that has been reinforced for me is that we must find the blessing in our suffering. We must look for the truth that is making itself known when these tragedies of late occur instead of either di-sensitizing or blaming others for them. As Ernest Holmes once wrote, “we either learn from inspiration and intuition or from bitter experience.” I think we’ve had more than enough of bitter experience. However, it will continue if we do not grow through it, feelings and all.

As I wrote earlier this week, I will continue to pray because I know it makes a difference. This is not something new. All the great mystics and minds and saints and prophets knew this.  Why does it make a difference? Because with prayers that comes with the feeling that it is already accomplished, we are interacting with and changing the field. What we change in our own minds affects everyone.

Today, at 11am Mountain Time which is 10am PT and 8am HT, we are coming together to do a heart/mind coherence meditation. I know that we are making a difference in the field by doing this. Every time two or more are gathered together in Love it has to be. And, as a matter of fact, it only takes one. As Dr. Holmes wrote, “One alone in consciousness with the Infinite constitutes a complete majority.”

Right here, beyond judgment of right or wrong, we live in a field of unlimited potential. It knows no time or space. I’ll meet you there/here.

Love and Aloha,

Rev. Rita
