If you come to a point in your life where you feel like you are waiting on someone or something else, I believe it is time to make a decision. For me, when I am waiting for someone else to do something before I can move forward, it means that I am dependent on outside forces. I am not dependent on something happening first that will allow me to make a decision. This is not the way the Laws of the Universe work at best.
Here’s an example. Let’s say you want to take a trip somewhere. You say to yourself, when I have a certain amount of money, I will plan that trip. Or you say something like, when I am in better shape, I will plan that trip. This is incorrect, if you want the force of Universal Energy to move with you, you must decide first. You must decide that you are going on that trip and nothing in the way of how things look now, can deter that decision.
What does a decision feel like? It is a deep knowing that whatever you are conceiving of is already a “done deal.” Because you know this, you begin planning. You begin where you are. This is not permission to rack up your credit card dollars. There are other ways to begin. Begin your research. Begin to create the atmosphere in your life of one who travels. Talk to people who have gone where you want to go. All the while, you know you are going now.
The times in my life when I have made a decision are the times that the Universe flowed through me in powerful ways. I have so many examples of this. When we started our Center here on Kaua’i, we just began to move from where we were. We did what we could do and then allowed the Universe to do its part. We didn’t have any money, really. We took it day-by-day and moved with our passion. When I decided to become a minister, I was in terrible debt. I didn’t have a credit card. However, I never missed a payment for my tuition. I had everything I needed in every moment. All that was needed came in unexpected ways. Doors opened and everything flowed.
The Universe moves with our decisions. Without them, we are just treading water. I invite us to make a decision about something today and begin to move with it. You’ll know when you’ve made a true decision because you will feel a forward momentum, ideas will flow through you, you’ll lose any sense of doubt. You might have moments of fear, but it’s not really fear; it is the feeling of excitement when you know your dreams are actually coming true. Keep going. Leave the “process” behind. Every step is you actually living your dream. One day, you’ll be living your dream and you’ll wonder, “how did that happen?”
