Mystic and teacher and Founder of the Science of Mind and Spirit, Ernest Holmes, was doing his work during the Great Depression and World War II. He wrote a great message to the world during that time in many writings, including the Science of Mind, which is well over 500 pages of Truth applicable to every day living. In the beginning of the text, is written:
“These lessons are dedicated to that Truth which frees man from himself and sets him on the pathway of a new experience which enables him to see through the mist to the Eternal and Changeless Reality.”
Needing to “see through the mist,” thousands came to hear him speak in Los Angeles, increasing every week so that he had to move into larger and larger venues. The reason I bring him up now is because what he brought forth as Truth in 1927 was what was True for thousands and thousands of years and taught by the mystics of all times. And, it is as true today in our current state of chaos and conflict.
What is this Truth? Simply put, “There is a Power for Good in the Universe greater than we are and we can use it.” Jesus knew this and used it. The Buddha preached it and used it. The Hindu philosophy is based on this Truth. Countless of religions and philosophies all tell us the same thing. The new science, Quantum Physics is now in agreement. We are something greater than the material world. We are Consciousness and we are in charge of how we use our Consciousness. How we think and respond to our environment is making a difference in our very cells, individually and collectively.
Given this and looking at our current circumstances, we can readily see why we are where we are and how we can navigate ourselves through this time and reveal wholeness, harmony and balance. We created this pandemic through our consciousness of separation, competition and violence. It is so obvious to me because I believe in Cause and Effect or better put, “I am causing effect.” We are calling out to ourselves to come back home to cooperation and love which will reveal healing. What will we choose?
I choose to focus on the ways in which people are pulling together rather than what causes us to separate. I choose to be a helper. I choose to be resilient and find new ways to express my creativity and assist others. I choose faith over fear. choose to find ways to cooperate and to look for the good in this. Why? Because I know that how I use my mind right now is the only tool I really have and that it is a powerful tool for good or for evil. My mind stayed on Love and Wholeness will lead me to the ways and means to put myself into action in the middle of all of this. My Mind stayed on the future I want to see, will assist the shift. We each have this same opportunity.
What will you choose? Will you remain in the consciousness of separation and competition or will you move into the consciousness of cooperation and giving? What you choose will make all the difference in the world, truly!
Everything you read is not true, so do not believe everything you read. Search for your own answers. Look to the helpers. It is not enough to say, “this too shall pass” unless we are clear on which direction we are moving. I invite us to fasten our gaze on healing and keep our mental closets clean and filled with new ideas of love, prosperity and peace and health for all.
In Love and Truth,
Rev. Rita
