Everything New

As a spiritual scientist, I believe in the power of my thoughts and how they shape my reality. Day in and day out, I am in constant reflection on how my thoughts play out, because I can see them clearly reflected in my experiences. Ernest Holmes, the Founder of the Science of Mind, once wrote, “Life is a mirror and will reflect back to the thinker what he thinks into it.”

For example, just yesterday, I found myself ruminating on how things weren’t going as well as I would like them to from a financial perspective. Almost immediately, I was confronted with an unexpected bill. On a more positive note, the other day, I set the intention to ramp up my ability to spiritually serve others. All day long, I was given opportunities, big and small, to be a beacon of light to those in need of spiritual nurturing.

Our thoughts are powerful, especially those we think over and over again. It’s the tendency of our thoughts that creates our reality. Fortunately, there is a remedy for every thought gone wrong: the concept that everything is always new. Ernest Holmes once wrote, “We can change the trend of causation anytime we decide to do so.” We are in charge of our destiny, and we live that destiny in the present moment. I was recently called a DNA breaker in regards to breaking those messages encoded in my DNA from generations of past trauma and limiting beliefs. We each have the capacity to do this.

We are constantly evolving, and we are co-creators of our experience. What does this mean? There is one Power, and it is unlimited in its scope. It responds to our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs and brings those thoughts, feelings, and beliefs back to us in the form of experiences. This is science, not just wishful thinking. The Law of Cause and Effect, the Law of Attraction, the Law of Correspondence, and the Law of Mental Equivalents are always in play. They are the guaranteed Laws of the Universe. The best part is that these laws are neutral—they never judge us, nor do they care if we consider ourselves good or bad people. However, the key is that they will bring back to us what we put into them. So, the adage “be careful what you wish for” holds true scientific power.

Quantum science supports the Science of Mind perspective. At the quantum level, everything is in a state of potential and possibility until we bring our attention to it and collapse those potentials into reality. It is known as the Observer Effect. It’s worth examining old beliefs that might be holding back our good. For instance, I remember being told as a little girl that I was not worthy and possibly even “bad.” When that authority figure spoke, it influenced me at the quantum level. My state of possibility and potential collapsed into reality. I spent a lot of my life re-living that belief until I became conscious of it and decided to change it. It wasn’t easy—I had to work on it by meditating, affirming, studying, and learning to love myself. However, the reward was that I began to bring new experiences into my life as soon as I started to change that belief. We all have this capability.

There is no doubt that what we focus on grows and expands. Our thoughts and beliefs have creative power. If we want change in our lives, we have to return to the realm of possibilities and make new choices. Dr. Joe Dispenza’s work supports this as well. To quote him, “When you focus on a possibility, you change your energy. When you change your energy, you change your life.” When we focus on the possibility of a new experience, we have the capability to break free from our old habitual thinking that creates the same experiences in our lives over and over.

The first step to the changes we want to make is to be mindful. Take the time and make the intention to be aware of your thoughts. Don’t just tell yourself things like “That’s who I am” or “I always think that way.” You can be new right now. It’s a choice! When we align our thoughts with the possibility of something new, we automatically open ourselves up to infinite potential.

Would you like some tools to assist you on your journey? These are simple tools, but you have to use them consistently. They come in the form of daily practices such as meditation, affirmations, and visualization. You have to reinforce the idea of “everything new” in your consciousness.

I invite you to create an affirmation for yourself, like “I am open to new possibilities” or “I create my reality with each thought I choose, so I choose good ones right now.” Spend time in meditation every day. Even a few moments of breathing and visualizing the life you intend for yourself will make a difference. Let go of the old conversations and repeated thoughts and statements that keep you stuck. When you are aware, you will recognize this old self-talk, and you will have the power to change it, making room for the new.

In summary, take a deep breath and read this quote by Ernest Holmes: “We are all thinking, willing, knowing, conscious centers of Life. We are surrounded by, immersed in, and there is flowing through us a creative something… call it what you will.” This one statement intuits through us the quantum possibilities for change in our life. This change will come when we intentionally focus our attention on where we want to go and let go of the past. When we embrace the present moment and align our thoughts and intentions with the highest possibilities for ourselves, we will make a powerful change in the direction of our lives.
