“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself”—words spoken by Franklin D. Roosevelt—truly resonate with me today. If I tune into the media too much, I can find myself on a runaway train of fear. Why does this happen to someone like me, who is steeped in the Science of Mind philosophy? I know there is no greater Power than the Power of Source Energy. I know that as I believe, so my life shows up. I know that what I focus on grows. And yet, sometimes, I still fear. What am I fearing? Death? Loss of connection? Loss of the freedom to speak my mind and live my life as I choose? When I contemplate what could be lost, it feels natural to feel fear. These fears are very real today.
I am reminded of a statement by the great mystic and teacher Ernest Holmes: “…The fear of loss of health, loss of friends, loss of property—all arise from the belief that God is not all that we claim: Omniscience, Omnipotence, and Omnipresence.”
The belief system I adhere to teaches that there is no outside God. I am God. I am Source Energy. There is a part of me that can never be taken—unless I allow it—and that is my very soul.
There are soul-utions to what is occurring in our world right now. Those soul-utions lie in each of us remembering who we truly are. This doesn’t mean we won’t be challenged. It doesn’t mean we won’t experience loss. What it does mean is that beyond the physical plane of action, something much bigger is occurring.
We are living in a time of great shift. Rev. Dr. Robert Brzezinski spoke these words, and I find myself affirming them and living them: “I am standing in the fire of transformation.” For transformation to occur, things must fall apart. Chaos is real as we attempt to find our way through this mess. And yet, I believe we cannot put things back together as they were.
Remember the nursery rhyme: “All the King’s horses and all the King’s men couldn’t put Humpty Dumpty back together again.”
I do believe that things can’t go back to the way they were nor would I want them to. If they did, we’d all be asleep again.
So what newness is being born today? That is the question I am asking myself. How can I, Rita, create something new every day? I must begin by asking new questions—and answering them with new answers.
I’ve lived through many periods of chaos and destruction in this country, but I’ve never seen anything like this. I never dreamed it was possible, and yet here we are. Without sounding cliché, I know the only way through is by:
- Keeping informed with accurate facts
- Remembering who we truly are – GOD, powerful, loving, all-knowing
- Taking intentional alone time to strengthen our souls
- Developing and trusting our intuition
- Walking through our fears with courage
- Living as the creatives we are
- Letting go of distractions we cannot control
- Stopping the management of life and truly live it
- Ending our hiding and stepping fully into who we came here to be
We were built for these times—or we wouldn’t be here. I am spending each day walking my talk by doing all of the above and more. I know the people reading this are doing the same.
Pass the word. It will help those who are struggling right now.
