Thoughts are Things?

When I Didn’t Know My Thoughts Mattered

For much of my life, I didn’t think my thoughts mattered. In fact, I didn’t think about my thoughts at all—I just had them. I call this the unconscious period of my life, and it lasted until I was about 45 years old.

The Awakening: Thoughts Are Things

When I found Science of Mind and New Thought, I experienced a profound awakening: “Thoughts are things.” Scientifically speaking, thoughts are energetic—especially when they are infused with emotion. Our thoughts are our intentions, and our feelings are the magnetic pull that draws experience into manifestation.

Discovering the Power of Thought

There’s a quote by the teacher and author Ernest Holmes that says, “Man’s greatest discovery was that he could think, and that his thoughts went out and came back to him as experience.” This was probably the greatest discovery I had made in my life up to that point. Now, decades later, I am actually living my thoughts. I am conscious. I am so grateful.

Thought + Action = Transformation

And let’s not leave action out of this equation. The thoughts we hold should move us into action. Otherwise, we risk living only in a dream world.

What thoughts are you having today in regard to the world and all that is occurring? Your thoughts matter—not just for your life, but for all of us. And when you take inspired action, that’s when real change occurs.

Thoughts are things when we act upon them.

Call to Action

Take a quiet moment today and notice one recurring thought you’ve been carrying—about yourself, the world, or what’s possible. Gently ask: Is this the thought I want to be living into? Then choose one small, inspired action that aligns with the life you wish to see emerging through you.
