Why Spiritual Mind Treatment Works
Before I move on to Step 2 of Spiritual Mind Treatment, I want to pause and reflect on why this spiritual tool works so profoundly. It is both spiritual and scientific.
I know this not just in theory, but in practice. I use this powerful tool every single day—and not just once. I use it in gratitude. I use it when I am challenged. I use it to realign my thinking and my feeling. So why does it work?
We live, move, and have our being in one Universal Mind—one Universal Power—what some might call the Quantum Field. It goes by many names, but it points to the same reality: there is one underlying Presence expressing as all of life. When we think, we are impressing those thoughts upon this field. And when those thoughts are infused with feeling—when we are vibrating from the highest place available to us—we begin to experience corresponding conditions in our lives. In other words, like attracts like.
Have you ever wondered why it can feel so difficult to make a change? As we explored earlier, it is often because we are trying to change from the same level of consciousness—the same emotional tone—that created the condition in the first place. A feeling of lack continues to create more lack.
But what happens when we elevate our awareness? What happens when we truly embody Step One—Recognition—and begin to feel the Presence of something greater than our current condition? We begin to align with a new frequency. And from that place, life must respond.
Ernest Holmes once wrote that if what you seek existed in the most remote part of the world, it would have to come to you. Not because of magic, but because of alignment.
Opposites do not attract—like energy attracts like energy.
We’ve all heard the phrase, “You are the sum total of the five people you spend the most time with.” There is truth in that. And as my grandmother used to say, “Birds of a feather flock together.” In the same way, we might say: Thoughts of the same nature gather together to form our life experience.
From the perspective of quantum physics, we are also told that everything is interconnected. There is a concept called quantum entanglement, which suggests that particles can be correlated across vast distances. While we must be careful not to oversimplify or misapply the science, the metaphor is powerful: We are not separate from the field of life—we are participating in it.
Spiritual Mind Treatment works because it is a deliberate practice designed to shift our consciousness—to elevate our awareness—and to bring the heart and mind into coherence. When we do this, we are no longer reacting to life. We are creating from alignment. Spiritual Mind Treatment works not because we are forcing change—but because we are aligning with what is already true.
Tomorrow, we will move into Step 2. But for now, I want to ask you: How is it going with Step One? Have you been practicing the idea that God, or Source Energy, is all there is?
Are you beginning to feel it—not just as a concept, but in your body, in your bones? Because this is where everything begins.
