Easy Does It!

Our subconscious mind merges with the universal subjective, therefore making us universal on the subjective side of life. What does this mean? Well, there is one Field of unlimited potential and possibility. The only way to use it in an unlimited way is to surrender our consciousness of limitation to infinite possibilities. It is a matter of opening up through Spiritual Mind Treatment and meditation to the Power greater than our objective mind, which limits everything by what it sees in the world of form. Can we look away or turn away from the conditional world and enter this “eye of the needle.” There is only one way to do it and that as Dr. Joe Dispenza would call it “being in the sweet spot of the present moment.” The analogy being that there is a spot on a bat or racket or club that when the ball hits that spot, it makes its most effective contact. Firmly being in the present moment give our lives that same effectiveness. How do we achieve being in the present moment? In order to be in the present moment, we would have to stop carrying around the regrets of the past and give up the detrimental habit of futurizing. We would simply have to have faith and trust that there is a Divine Right Action moving through our life at all times, that the Universe always has our back. That we are Intelligence and that Intelligence moves us and lives through us and seeks to express through us. We would have to cease judging everything from the limits of what has already occurred, look away from conditions and seek to look within, where lies unlimited potential. Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “What lies front of you and what lies behind you pales in comparison to what lies inside you.” In the 3rd Chapter of the Science of Mind, “What It Does,” Ernest Holmes discusses this Intelligence as “a Mind that knows all things,” but states that, “it is also true that this Intelligence can acquaint us with Its ideas only as we are able and willing to receive them.” How can we receive new infinite ideas when we think we know everything already? There is a question I love to ask that I learned from my mentor Dr. James Mellon: “I know nothing; now what can I know?” This question puts me in the position to learn something that is not based on my past experiences or judgments. This intelligence must have an outlet, and, as Dr. Holmes writes, “This outlet we shall be compelled to supply through our own receptive mentalities.” He goes on to let us know that all inventions, art, literature and even government, law and wisdom have come to earth through the minds of those who have deeply penetrated this Intelligence or as he calls it “The Mind of God.” The great mind Ralph Waldo Emerson when speaking about his own writing said, “I stand still. I listen to my heart and I write.” I know for myself that the times that I have truly felt my creative nature, whether it is through writing, performing, or deciding something important for my life, that there is something that I cannot explain logically that moves through me and gives me the answers, the inspiration. When I write, if I simply allow myself to just type, the words flow. “What do I need to know?” is often the question I ask. When I read my writing back later, “I wonder who wrote that?” Does this mean that some other entity has entered my body and controlled me? That is not what I am saying. I am simply stating that we are Intelligence and that sometimes when we do not truly know this, we limit ourselves, constrict our thinking and direct our lives by the “I cannot’s” and “I should’s” and the “I did it that way last time.” We are limiting the very Intelligence we are by our labels and restrictions. Dr. Holmes writes, “Every person stands in the shadow of a might Mind, a pure Intelligence and a Divine Givingness.” When we are ego driven and when we force our will in our life, we close ourselves off from that Intelligence. It can only work through a mind that is open and willing to entertain its wisdom. “It is the nature of the Universe to give us what we are able to take. It cannot give us more. It has given all, we have not yet accepted the greater gift.” Do you remember the Bible quote, “But the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works … .” Well, taking this statement out of this literal translation and into a more metaphorical place, the “I” is our finite earthly, objective mind; that there is an Infinite Mind, call it “father,” or whatever you want to call it. It is all Power. It is Love. It is a Givingness that just wants to express and is always seeking an outlet. We each provide the outlet. We are free and no one can force anyone to heaven. There might be many reasons why we do not receive the gifts of the Spirit. If we have not allowed ourselves to be an outlet, is it possible that we do not feel worthy? It is one possibility. If this rings true for you, ask Spirit to show you the reasons for your unworthiness to receive its gifts. Give it all your love and allow it to be released. Another reason might be our level of belief. Can we believe that there is an Infinite Power that is expressing through us? The best way to work with our level of belief is to begin to work with the Power of the law called Cause and Effect. Dr. Holmes write, “The Laws of the Universe are to be trusted but we must come to understand them before we can use them. Once understood, any law is available and is impersonally responsive to all alike.” This philosophy of the Science of Mind and Spirit sounds good to some of us; to some it seems too good to be true. However, it is not too good to be true. It is good because it is true for each of us as long as we are willing to comply by its Principles. We are all different and we all have different callings and talents. We tap into the Power as we choose. We all come from the same stuff and we choose how we will express it. When we want to know why certain seeming evil things occur, we must remind ourselves that there is one Power and how we use it is a choice. When our choice goes against others to do harm, it will come back to us as harm. It is guaranteed. This is a Universe of Law and order. It is a Law of liberty, but not of license. We do not get a license to do as we wish with the Law without paying the consequences of our actions even if it is a long time coming. What we put out, must come back to us in the form of experience. If we think on evil long enough, we will experience evil. If we think on limitation, we will experience limitation. If we think on Infinite abundance and accept it as our own, we will experience it. “It is done unto us as we believe.” “The one who wants to experience some particular good, must become conscious of that good., if he wishes to experience it.”  Holmes So, in summary, how much good can we become conscious of? What are we thinking about all day long? Are we focused on living in big and abundant ways or are we just struggling to just get by? There is nothing wrong with any of it; however, what the Science of Mind is saying is that life is not meant to be a struggle. It is not meant to be hard. Life is that we might have joy and our journey to joy is our life. We can take as long or as short of a time as we want. There is not judgment. We will all hit our homerun. We will move at our own pace. However, remember, just because we are not experiencing our Good right now, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. I believe we are in a time in our evolution when we do need to step up. We do need to rely on Divine and Infinite Wisdom: the Wisdom of our cells, the Wisdom of our intuition, the Wisdom that is led by love and answered by law. The world needs helpers. The world needs kindness. The world needs Infinite thinkers who think with their hearts have integrity and speak up for what is right. Emerson wrote, “Fear defeats more people than any one thing in the world.” Today, let us make a choice to turn from fear of the future and regret of the past and instead trust an Infinite Intelligence and Wisdom that is our very breath, our very cells, our very mind, our very heart. Let us open up to it, allow it to pour through us in our own individual way and let us use it for Good. And really, “Easy does It.” There is no struggle. We only allow. Love and Aloha, Rev. Rita Andriello-Feren, Spiritual Director CSL Kaua`i (based on my talk on 011721 at CSL Kaua`i)
