Today, I began a 21-day meditation journey on Facebook Live called Opening New Doors! We opened the first door—Commitment—with these words from Ernest Holmes:
“We are continuously living a new life, and when the old and the new do not fit nicely together, the old—being no longer able to contain the new—should be discarded. Continually we must expect new revelations of old truths. We should never lose sight of the fact that the soul is on the pathway of an endless and ever-expanding experience, and that only by expansion can it evolve.”
Today, I choose expansion. I commit to looking at old habits with new awareness. When I notice a familiar reaction to a person or situation, it is no longer enough to say, “That’s just how I am,” or “They always do that.” Instead, I pause and choose to think anew.
I am learning to look at life through new eyes—the eyes of Love, Compassion, Wisdom, and Possibility. You may choose your own.
As we begin this New Year, I invite us all to commit to being truly new. Can we discover new solutions to old challenges? Can we live from the Truth of who we are—powerful, creative minds on an ever-unfolding journey of life, destined for greatness?
I am committed. And I know our world is calling each of us to open new doors within ourselves.
Affirmation:
Today, I open the door of commitment. I align with expansion, and I am ready for something new to express through me.
“Commitment is an act, not a word,” wrote Jean-Paul Sartre.
What action will you take today to honor your commitment?
