Releasing is about revealing. Just as Michelangelo released David from the marble—cutting away everything that wasn’t David—so must I release anything that is not the magnificence of who I am.
I cannot tell you what you need to release; that is your journey. Perhaps you do not need to release anything at all. Only you know.
Ernest Holmes once wrote, “It is necessary that we release all thoughts—as well as all things—that clutter up our lives.” A good place to begin is by releasing thoughts of not being enough. What about impatience with the process of life? Once I set an intention in motion, do I trust the natural unfolding of things? Do I trust the Law to bring my good to me?
At our Center, we often say, “We are magnificent.” We say it every Sunday. Yet some people have shared that they stay away because they cannot feel that or say that. They struggle to accept their own magnificence.
How do we release feelings of inferiority? This process could easily be an entire class, and it would be unrealistic to think it could be fully resolved in one blog. Still, here are the steps I believe are essential:
- Identify the block — without needing to know where it came from
- Be willing to forgive it
- Meditate and contemplate your own Divinity
Florence Scovel Shinn, mystic and author of the 1800s, used this powerful mantra: “I cast my burden on the Christ within.” What is the Christ? It is the Divine Presence within each of us that knows our Truth.
I believe we are each responsible for doing our inner work—to shine brightly in this world and to assist in the evolution of the Great Presence. In doing so, we become catalysts for transmutation into Love in a world that is struggling greatly right now.
Affirmation:
Today, I gently release what no longer serves my magnificence.
