“Behind or within the individual is the Universal, which has no limits. In this concept alone lies the possibility of an endless and an eternal expansion. Everyone is Universal on the subjective side of life and individual only at the point of conscious perception. We use the power of the Universal Mind every time we think.”

This quote suggests that we always have access to infinite potential. There would be nothing to hold us back except our own thoughts, beliefs, and feelings.

While listening to Tony Robbins the other day, the interviewer asked him what holds people back the most. His answer was, “the feeling of not-enoughness.” I believe this is true. If we do not understand our relationship to the Universe—or feel its Intelligence as our intelligence—we will inevitably feel that we are not enough.

If we desire to experience a more expansive life, the first thing we must address is our identity as part of the Universal Whole. We must come to feel our intelligence as permanently linked to Infinite Intelligence, expressing through us at all times.

As Ernest Holmes and other mystics have taught, the Universe can only do for us what it can do through us. Therefore, the first place to begin is to allow, accept, and practice the Presence.

Many will ask, “How do I do this?” First, decide to do so. Second, as the mystic Jesus taught, “Stand at the door and knock.” That door is the door of consciousness. Knock—and expect an answer.

In these times of great challenge, this may well be the answer for those of us who want to feel that there is something we can do to assist a world in need. The answer is to trust and accept that consciousness is expanding, that all answers are already here, and that the Universal Power behind everything is pouring through everything—creating order from chaos through each one of us.

Stand at the door and knock. The answer is within you.
