Message from the Ants

The labyrinth is a powerful tool for opening us up to our intuition. It is a right-brain activity that allows us to focus on creative, feeling energy and let go of the analytical thinking of the left brain. I am a certified facilitator, and I walk the labyrinth often—for clarity, for purpose, and sometimes just to release into a peaceful moment.

I often use the labyrinth as a closing meditative exercise during my sessions as a spiritual practitioner. During this particular session, I decided to walk the labyrinth with my client as we finished working together. The session centered around support in life and the feelings of overwhelm that can sometimes disrupt our peace of mind. I had completed my Spiritual Mind Treatment, and we walked the labyrinth.

The labyrinth never lies because it is simply a reflection of our own consciousness. We meet ourselves on the labyrinth. It isn’t magic; it is consciousness revealing itself to us. We release our thoughts, burdens, and blocks as we walk inward. We receive all that is ours to receive at the center. Then we move outward, returning to our world with the gifts we have embodied.

I have to admit that I was feeling a bit overwhelmed when I entered the labyrinth that day. As I walked inward, I reflected on all I had to accomplish, letting go of that stress at the same time. I was looking down at the path when I noticed something quite extraordinary. There were tiny ants working together to carry a very large piece of something. I stopped and watched. They were very small, and there must have been a dozen or so carrying their treasure. Around them were another dozen or so fellow travelers scurrying behind them in pursuit. I wasn’t sure what their role in the process was. Were they guardians, or were they simply hoping to get some of the reward?

In that moment, as I continued to walk, the realization of support washed over me. There is always support. As I feel supported, support shows up as needed. I am never alone, and within me there is always enough—and more to spare. The Universe always unfolds in my favor, and even this tiny message from the ants was a gift from the Universe.

Life unfolds in our favor—all of us. The dream within us is divine in origin, supported by Spirit, and always unfolding in perfect right action. Do we notice the subtle and not-so-subtle messages that reassure us of that? I am grateful for that day on the labyrinth and for my willingness to pause on the path, to listen and receive the Divine message from the ants.

I’m breathing a little easier and trusting a little more.
My life is unfolding perfectly.
