“Nothing can hinder the person who knows that he is dealing with the One Power that creates all from Itself, moves all within Itself, and yet holds everything in its place.”
—Ernest Holmes
I recently listened to a podcast featuring Tony Robbins. No one can deny that, at 66 years old, he has a 49-year legacy and has created an empire based on helping others become their highest and best selves.
In this podcast, he said something that struck me deeply: “We are not here to manage life; we are here to create.” I have always known that I am here to create, and I have done much of this in my life. I am an artist—a singer and a writer—and in the latter part of my life, I have devoted myself to creating a Center for Spiritual Living alongside my husband.
It was the “managing life” part of his statement that truly struck me. I most definitely feel that I have fallen into managing life—our Center, our finances, and more. His words struck such a deep keynote within me that they pulled me out of my management position. What if I simply reframed the task of managing and remembered that I am not here to manage—I am here to create?
What will I create next? How will I create flourishing finances, inspiring programs, labyrinth walks, and stories that stir the imagination toward greatness?
As I know from my Religious Science studies, Spirit creates by becoming the thing it makes. We cannot get away from this truth. What am I? What is my identity? Whatever I place after the words “I am” is what I am projecting into my world. I have spent too much time managing myself as a writer and a singer—trying to strategize my next move—instead of claiming my identity as a great one and going forth to share it with others. The Law takes care of the how’s, and my vibration attracts back to me all that is required.
What are you managing in your life, and how might you turn it into a creative act? We are creatives—that is what we do. We express Spirit, and the Law of our being responds with a yes and creates the form. We do not need to figure out how it does this. We need only to claim our identity and go forth to create what is ours to create.
“Love is the self-givingness of the Spirit through the desire of Life to express Itself in terms of creation.” —Ernest Holmes
It is all about service to our world, and I know our world needs each of us right now to begin creating something new—something loving, compassionate, and life-changing.
